Expert Heritage Archaeologist Wanted
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled archaeologist to join our team and assist in the delivery of heritage consulting services. Your primary responsibilities will include researching and delivering archaeological assessments, conducting field work, analyzing data, and preparing reports.
You will also be involved in test and salvage excavations, including excavation, sieving, recording, and finds cataloguing. Additionally, you will assist with Aboriginal community consultation for various projects and prepare materials for project clients.
Your tasks may also include completing administrative work required for various projects, achieving project deadlines, and reporting task progress and issues regularly.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Archaeology Honours degree or equivalent
* At least one year's experience with Aboriginal heritage assessments as well as excavation
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
* Construction industry 'white card'
Desired Skills and Expertise
* Specialist analysis expertise (e.g. stone artefact analysis, faunal analysis)
* GIS mapping skills
* NSW driver's licence

This is a full-time position based at our office and gallery space in Alexandria, Sydney. Most projects are located in the Sydney region and surrounds. Some flexible work arrangements can be considered.
