Motor Mechanic
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Company: Westside Auto Wholesale, a family‐run private company in West Australia, leading used car dealership with the largest vehicle range in the country.
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular repair, test, and maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune‐ups of motor vehicles and machinery.
* Create a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
* Meet with clients to understand concerns, identify issues, and provide high‐quality service.
* Generate timelines and estimates for repairs, discussing options with clients.
* Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts; disassemble/assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
* Repair or replace worn, old or defective parts of motor vehicles, ensuring parts are checked and tested using proper testing equipment.
* Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems; maintain and document work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
* Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary; propose maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.
Qualifications
* Trade qualification or equivalent solid experience in a similar role.
* Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directions.
* Analytical, keen to help clients resolve issues with vehicle performance and appearance.
* Proficient with mechanic's tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Physically and mentally fit.
* Strong attention to detail and diagnostic abilities.
* Strong communication and reporting skills; customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and in a team; self‐motivated, organized, reliable with a strong work ethic.
Compensation
Salary: $75,000–$80,000 per annum + super.
