Overview
You will work under the guidance of the Director of Emergency Medicine, Specialist ED Consultants, and GP Supervisors. The role also involves supervising junior clinical staff and providing both formal and informal teaching opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Supervise junior clinical staff and provide formal and informal teaching opportunities.
* Manage approximately 60,000 patient presentations annually with a 20% admission rate.
* Work at a tier 2 non-major referral centre accredited for 24 months of emergency medicine training.
* See over 5,000 paediatric cases each year and maintain paediatric logbook accreditation.
* Contribute to an ED that is a regional trauma centre managing major trauma cases from road, farm, and industrial incidents.
* Collaborate with a wide range of specialties, including Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, ICU, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, General Surgery, and Medicine.
* Be part of a consultant team that includes FACEMs, sports medicine specialists, and GP anaesthetists, supported by skilled nurse practitioners.
* Gain experience managing a broad spectrum of patient presentations and acuity levels.
