$128,000 + super + structured salary increases
Key capabilities:
Effectively manage a large and high-volume portfolio of litigated and non-litigated matters, including complex and strategically important issues across a diverse range of cases:
* Handle matters related to client entitlements under relevant acts, such as No Fault Dispute Resolution Protocols applications, VCAT Applications for Review, Serious Injury Originating Motions, Common Law Protocols applications, and Common Law Writs.
* Provide both written and verbal legal advice on complex and sensitive issues to ensure the firm's and client's interests are protected, including identifying further information needs, risks, and adverse precedent matters involving schemes or reputational issues.
* Work within strict timelines and adapt to changing priorities as matters develop.
* Obtain instructions from multiple clients, keep them informed during court hearings and tribunals, and act accordingly.
* Conduct court hearings and trials, prepare relevant documentation, brief and instruct counsel, and liaise with clients.
* Appear independently in various jurisdictions, including Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, County Court, and Supreme Court, for directions and judgments, including participation in court circuits across the state.
* Participate in negotiations and settlement of legal costs, prepare for Cost Recovery Committee matters, and provide legal costing advice.
* Collaborate with Senior Solicitors and Legal Managers to develop strategies for achieving targets and managing liabilities or legal precedents.
To be successful in this role, you must:
o Have 2+ years of experience in dispute resolution law or litigation.
o Be able to undergo a relevant National Criminal History Check.
o Possess extensive knowledge of Court and Tribunal Rules, processes, and procedures across relevant jurisdictions.
