About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. The General Manager will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products.
This role will ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations and to ensure that productivity targets are achieved with all warehouse processes running smoothly and promptly.
This role is based in Rocklea Markets Brisbane with onsite parking available.

Main tasks/responsibilities

* Leading operations, from staff development, lean warehousing implementation, planning to drive KPIs and deliver an exceptional level of service to the customer.
* Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in picking, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
* Review reports and statistics regularly.
* Overseeing all transport activities and productivity.
* Driving a culture of warehouse safety and continuous improvement across operations, seeking means to maximise operational efficiency and customer satisfaction, and presenting findings to senior management.
* Assist with annual budget preparation.
* Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision.
* Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilisation.
* Recruit, select, onboard, coach and motivate employees.
* Collaborate with other managers, sales, purchasing, finance, customer service, HR & IT to optimise processes.
* Building exceptional rapport with staff to form strong working relationships.
* Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee's performance.
* Maintain inventory and stock levels, items record, document necessary information.
* Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices
* Organise and maintain inventory and storage area, while maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
* Ensure quality assurance guidelines are followed (HACCP, SQF etc.)
* Facilitate cohesion and positive culture across the operational areas, aligning daily objectives to meet expected outcome.
Essential Criteria
The ideal candidate is highly motivated and engaging. You will have the ability to multitask, prioritise and work autonomously.
* 5+ years' management experience in transport, logistics, warehousing and / or supply chain.
* Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
* Highly effective management skills and techniques
* Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
