Nurse Unit Manager – George Town Hospital
We are looking for the Nurse Unit Manager to provide strong clinical and operational leadership to ensure safe, high‐quality, patient‐centred care within a rural hospital setting. The role requires resilience, adaptability and sound judgement to manage competing priorities, support staff wellbeing, and maintain service continuity in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The Nurse Unit Manager leads clinical governance, workforce management and continuous improvement to meet organisational, professional and community expectations.
Employment Details
Fixed term full‐time, day worker position. Working up to 76 hours per fortnight. Commencing 22 September 2026 until 20 June 2027.
Salary
$126,036 – $132,092 per annum, plus a 12% superannuation contribution.
* Post Graduate Allowance up to 10% based on qualification type.
* Rural Professional Development Allowance 4% of salary.
* Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year.

Qualifications
Essential:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Desirable:
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
