You will be safety focused, motivated and be able to work according to operating procedures and established guidelines.Based in Alexandra, the gateway to the high country, you will be part of the team responsible for the operation and maintenance of GVW's water and sewer network assets and wastewater treatment plants in the Southern region.As a water industry operative, you will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a small team, be flexible to meet the standby roster requirements and an enjoyment and understanding of technical maintenance in relation to the installation and repair of pipes and fittings.Completing Certificate 3 in Water Industry Operations is required, and we will support you to achieve this and more!
About your new role...This is an entry level role, ideally suited to someone keen to begin a rewarding career in an essential service industry.
We are also keen to hear from experienced water industry operators wanting to gain further skills and knowledge.You will be part of a small team, in a great outdoor location, assisting with looking after the Corporation's Southern water and wastewater reticulation system and associated facilities.Your daily tasks will include assisting with preventative and routine maintenance, operation of existing treatment systems, construction of new works, ensuring we meet expectations of delivering quality water and wastewater services to our customers.You will also have administrative tasks to complete regularly and be responsive to our customers queries and service complaints.Joining a supportive team that enjoys working together to provide a high-quality service to our community, your ability to participate in emergency response efforts as needed, including after-hours calls in case of equipment failures or emergencies will cement your role as a team player.So, if you have an appetite for technical maintenance, a willingness to contribute positively to the team and organisation, we are keen to hear from you!
