Our Federal Government client is looking for candidates with either NV1 or NV2 clearance for an (APS5 equivalent) Policy Officer role in Canberra ACT.
The client is looking to hire through the S26 transfer for both ongoing & non-ongoing options and is also open to 3 months contract through labour hire.
Key duties may include:
- Build, maintain, and facilitate collaboration with a wide network of stakeholders (internal and external) including across Whole of Government and with other partners.
- Provide timely, accurate and persuasive policy advice and written materials for Ministers, the senior executive, and other agencies including high quality briefs, submissions, QTBs, correspondence, reports and discussion papers.
- Coordinate high-level meetings with key government and external stakeholders, including preparing papers for senior staff members to chair relevant scheme consultative and governance fora.
- Support effective program management of high-profile activities.
- Contributing to a dynamic and high performing team, including promoting an inclusive work culture and building staff and organisational capability.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills and good organisational skills with the ability to balance priorities. Sound judgment and initiative are critical to success. The ideal candidate will contribute to the collegiate nature of the team, and support engagement on a range of tasks. Your flexibility and self-motivation will contribute to the Branch's inclusive and collaborative culture.
You will have autonomy to take ownership of your work, managing competing priorities whilst maintaining good attention to detail, demonstrating a solutions-focused attitude and commitment to achieving and delivering results.

To succeed in the role, you will be a good communicator, able to establish and maintain networks across government, and collaborate with and engage internal and external stakeholders.
