As a key member of our team, we are seeking an exceptional Quality Assurance Lead to drive the delivery of high-quality projects across electrical and mechanical construction. About the Role
This QA/QC Lead position ensures compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring successful handover of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities for HV/LV electrical installations, testing, and commissioning.
* Develop and implement project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and check sheets in alignment with contract requirements.
* Oversee completions processes, ensuring accurate tracking of work progress, punch lists, and handover documentation through completions systems.
* Conduct quality audits, inspections, and reviews to verify compliance with design, codes, and standards (AS/NZS 3000, etc.).
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams on quality standards and best practices.
* Liaise with clients, third-party inspectors, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality and completion issues.
* Review and verify all test packs, pre-commissioning and commissioning records prior to final acceptance.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying non-conformances, implementing corrective actions, and facilitating lessons learned.
* Manage the turnover and handover process, ensuring that all required documentation and records are accurate and complete.
Requirements
* A recognised qualification in Electrical Trade or Engineering (Degree or Diploma preferred).
* No less than 5 years' experience in QA/QC roles within HV/LV electrical projects - substations, switchyards, transmission/distribution networks, or heavy industrial sectors.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian electrical standards (AS/NZS) and statutory requirements.
* Proven experience using electronic completions and document management systems.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and resolve quality issues.
* Good analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
* Familiarity with quality management principles and ISO 9001 desirable.
