About the Role:
Our client a Local Government based in the southeastern suburbs is looking for a HR Advisor to join their people & culture team. You will be reporting into the HR manager and working alongside business partners in the team. This role is full-time, is initially contracted for 2 months and is to start ASAP.
The company operates on a hybrid model, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide accurate and timely HR advice to managers and staff
* Contribute to the review and update of HR policies, procedures, and programs
* Interpret and advise on relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and enterprise agreements
* Support the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
* Deliver HR projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Assist in data reporting and analysis using HRIS systems
* Support compliance and audit-related activities
About You:
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
* Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within local government or a complex organisation
* Strong understanding of employment legislation and enterprise agreements
* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Experience using HRIS systems such as PageUp or AURION is desirable
* Familiarity with local government or public sector frameworks
