We are seeking to establish a pool of English Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Note: This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The Role
John Forrest SC is seeking outstanding English teachers who have a deep understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and a strong commitment to high-impact teaching practices that drive improved student outcomes. Suitable applicants should ideally be experienced in designing and delivering engaging, well-structured learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
Experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or General courses is highly regarded.
Suitable applicants would ideally believe in the potential of every student to succeed. They should use evidence-based, highly effective teaching strategies and display a commitment to continuous growth through reflective practice. Suitable applicants should be skilled at providing differentiated and relevant learning opportunities that cater to the diverse needs, strengths, and backgrounds of all students.
Suitable applicants would join a progressive and collaborative English department actively involved in implementing a whole-school approach to educational programs. * consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
