About the Role
The Marketing Consultant delivers a complex range of functions from an underpinning discipline knowledge, operates as a member of specialist, multi-disciplinary team or independently and contributes to the development of new techniques and methodology.
Operating within a government and education context, the Marketing Consultant works collaboratively across the organisation to provide specialist marketing support and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Providing an effective and relevant marketing service that is consistent with target audiences
- Implementing agreed marketing activities or projects as identified by management
- Providing a level of professional writing for the preparation of marketing related documents including media releases, e-newsletters, briefs, reports and presentations
- Preparing and conducting marketing and promotional campaigns
Key Competencies required:
- Experience providing marketing services with demonstrated high level communication and writing skills, in particular written content for public consumption.
- Experience assisting in the development, monitoring and review of marketing activity
- Experienced at managing marketing projects and meeting deadlines within budget

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
Some out of hours work will be required during peak periods in line with business needs.
- Some intrastate/ interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Development Program.
