About the role
We are seeking a friendly and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at the Canberra Paediatric And Specialist Centre in Deakin, ACT. This is a part-time role where you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to our patients and clinical staff.
What you'll be doing
* Greeting patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner
* Scheduling appointments and managing patient records
* Handling patient inquiries and providing information about our services
* Assisting with medical billing and insurance claims processing
* Experience with Medicare billing and private health insurance claims processing required
* Maintaining a tidy and organised reception area
* Providing general administrative support to the clinical team as needed
What we're looking for
* Minimum 12 months experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare administration role
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities
* Proficiency in medical practice management software (such as Best Practice, Genie, or Pracsoft) and Microsoft Office applications
* A professional, discreet, and empathetic approach when dealing with patients
* A keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare industry standards is highly desirable
* Experience in paediatric healthcare settings would be advantageous
* Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia
* Current National Police Certificate required (or willingness to obtain)
