We are looking for an Production Engineer (Electronics/Embedded) with minimum 2 years of experience in electronics or embedded engineering, ideally in a production, manufacturing, or test environment to join the Production team of IND Technology in Melbourne, Australia. This role will support the RMA and faulty-bin framework, ensuring issues are resolved and feedback loops are closed. Moreover, you will have the opportunity of working with world-leading and industrial experts in delivering multi-awards-winning IoT powerline monitoring solutions to our customers in Australia, Canada, USA and Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out functional and environmental testing on electronic assemblies.
- Perform debugging on embedded systems and provide detailed feedback to engineering on hardware/firmware validation.
- Support root cause investigations for test failures and contribute insights to corrective action plans.
- Record and maintain accurate documentation of test results, findings, and process observations.
- Work closely with engineering teams to enable smooth product integration into production, providing data and operational support.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electronics or embedded engineering, ideally in a production, manufacturing, or test environment
- Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analysers, mustimeters).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documentation
- Strong PCB troubleshooting and soldering skills (SMD & through-hole).
- Familiarity with embedded systems and basic firmware/hardware integration.
- Strong knowledge of Python (or similar scripting) for automation/data logging.
- Understanding of reliability and environmental testing (temperature, vibration, stress).
- Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to work with cross-functional groups (Production, Hardware, QA, Procurement).
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset (lean manufacturing/quality awareness is a plus).
