Overview
The Department of Health (DoH) works to support and improve the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians. Within DoH the Clinical Quality, Regulation and Accreditation (CQRA) Group consolidates the provision of specialist advice to the Secretary and portfolio Ministers on clinical governance, quality improvement, licencing, regulation and accreditation of health facilities, clinical practice and clinical care provision, credentialing of health professionals, approvals of new devices, technologies and interventions, health professional discipline-specific matters and workforce issues. The CQRA Group includes the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Chief Allied Health Advisor and the Chief Psychiatrist. The Clinical Governance Section supports safety managers, clinicians and staff who are accountable for quality of care, continuous improvement in health outcomes, minimisation of risks, and fostering an environment of excellence in service delivery for patients in the Tasmanian public healthcare system. This section works closely with Regulation, Licencing and Compliance within CQRA.
