The Opportunity
In line with the Organisation's licensing requirements, the purpose of the position is to provide monitoring and support to Foster and Kinship Carers, who provide culturally appropriate out-of-home care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged under 18.
* To monitor quality of foster and kinship care placement, ensuring the needs of the children are met.
* Support and educate carers to ensure they are meeting the standards of care by building trust and establishing connections.
* Supporting carers to ensure they have all necessary supports in place – e.g. respite options, strong support network.
* Support carers in reporting non-critical and critical incidents to minimise the risk to children in care and to minimise the risk of placement breakdown.
* Provide on call support when rostered.
* Ensuring carers attend and complete mandatory training.
About you
* Always be well presented, friendly, courteous, and obliging when dealing with member of the community and colleagues
* Demonstrate commitment toward ongoing professional development
* Ensure communication is factual, accurate and presented in a clear and concise manner
Must haves:
* Current Blue Card Holder or Willingness to apply for Blue Card
* Current Drivers Licence
* Cultural Competency would be highly desirable
