About the business
Leonardo International Helicopter Division performs research, design, development, production, customer support and marketing of Leonardo's extensive range of products; modern helicopters and tiltrotors for civil, parapublic and defence applications. The Division manages the entire helicopter development and production cycle. Production and assembly plants are concentrated in Italy, UK, Poland and the US. The AW139, AW169 and AW189 models are part of a family of new generation helicopters, all featuring the same design philosophy and the same certification and safety standards.
Leonardo Australia is the Australian subsidiary of Leonardo International, offering full support services including engineering and maintenance and logistics management. Helicopter activities include helicopter gearbox overhauls in our state-of-the-art MRO facility. We also perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications and deployed support to customer maintenance activities. Our typical customers work in emergency services, offshore operations, in both government and private sectors including defence. Leonardo Australia has two key divisions, Helicopters and Electronics.
About the role
Working at our state-of-the-art hangar at Essendon Fields, the Material Demand Specialist is responsible for monitoring materials and parts availability to ensure timely availability for operations. This role is critical to maintaining efficient supply chain operations and supporting the overall performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain material requirements planning schedules based on business requirements.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials.
Monitor inventory levels and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and availability.
Implement inventory control strategies to minimise excess stock and reduce waste.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage material storage and handling.
Analyse material usage and inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Generate and present regular reports on material status, inventory levels, and planning performance.
Continuously evaluate and improve material planning processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline supply chain operations.
Maintain KPI while improving performances.
Education and Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain / Logistics Engineering / Logistics Management or equivalent work experience.
Full Australian work rights.
Clean National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain.
Professional and Technical Experience Requirements
3+ years of relevant administrative experience in a progressive corporate or global business teamwork environment, preferable aviation sector.
Solid Analytical Skills.
Solid computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and experience with inventory systems (SAP).
Organisational and time management skills.
Relationship management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build collaborative working relationships.
Able to work under high demanding/stressful environments to meet customer deadlines.
Availability for business trip, both National and International.
Good understanding of Financial transaction (invoicing) and instruments (WBS).
Good knowledge of company products (in terms of familiarisation with helicopters platforms).
Good understanding of trade compliance regulation.
Good understanding of Authorised Release Certificate:
Certificate of Conformance (CoC).
European Aviation Safety Agency Form 1 (EASA F1).
Federal Aviation Authority Form ****** (FAA ******).
Dual Release Certificate.
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA F1).
Ability to read technical documentation to support customer queries, supply required spare parts and identify suitable alternative spare parts:
Interactive Electronic Technical Publication (IETP).
Service Bulletin (SB).
Service Information Letter (SIL).
