About the role
We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to join our talented culinary team in our newly renovated kitchen at the Salty Dog Hotel, in the beautiful seaside town of Kingston Beach, Tasmania. This full-time role will see you playing a key part in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes for our guests.
What you'll be doing
1. Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and cooking of all menu items
2. Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
3. Maintain a clean and organised work station
4. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene guidelines
5. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience
6. Contribute ideas and suggestions to menu development
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role in a similar hospitality environment
2. Experience running a busy section, with grill experience highly valued
3. Formal culinary training or qualification
4. Strong knowledge of modern food preparation techniques, flavour profiles and presentation
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
7. Passion for creating high-quality, innovative dishes
8. Current Food Safety Supervisor certification
