OverviewAurizon is offering an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in rail through our Operational Maintainer (Rail Shunter) Traineeship in Esperance.
As a trainee, you'll be part of a structured program where you'll gain practical, hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification in rail operations (shunting).
You'll work alongside experienced team members in a fast-paced environment, developing the skills needed to build a long-term career with Australia's largest rail freight operator.About the roleControl the movement of trains and carry out relevant instructions always maintaining safetyInspect for faults, repair, service and maintain rollingstockSupport maintenance of locomotives, ancillary vehicles, machines, and equipmentConduct brake testing of trainsEffectively communicate with other depot personnel as well as clients and operational staff including train control face to face and via two-way radioUndertake shunting and marshalling of trainsOther duties as requestedAbout youC Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)Shunt qualification (mandatory)Strong commitment to safetyMechanical aptitudeStrong problem solving and communication skillsA willingness to work day & night shift (up to 12hr shifts) and including weekend work as requiredPlease note that all applicants will be required to undergo psychometric testing, a drug and alcohol test and carry out a criminal history check
