Obstetrician and Gynaecologist
The maternity unit at Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital is a level three role delineation, delivering over 800 babies a year. The service is expanding to increase the Obstetric service to level four to enhance the services provided to local residents.
The department provides comprehensive gynaecological services to the region with support for gynaecological oncology from Royal Women's Hospital, Randwick. Opportunities are available to enhance skills in obstetric imaging depending on the career focus of the successful applicant.
Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy acute care facility providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services to around 22,000 patients each year. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit incorporating High Dependency and Coronary Care beds, as well as Emergency Department services.
The hospital supports the training of Nursing, Medical and Allied Health staff through affiliation with the University of Wollongong, offering teaching and research opportunities through the UOW Graduate School of Medicine.

This position requires specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).
