Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a motivated and qualified Trainer Assessor. Reporting to the Superintendent – Training, you will provide a high level of training support to both surface and underground operations. You will have the desire to improve training, implement innovative tools and ideas and become an integral part of the Training team. The position is residentially based in Mount Isa on a 4/3 roster, which allows you to go home each day and enjoy the lifestyle that Mount Isa has to offer.
Your key responsibilities include:
Proactively coordinating and forecasting a schedule for facilitation to meet department needs
Conducting training and assessment in areas of competence
Consulting with advisors to update training plans and focus on monthly training targets
Participating in training package reviews and development
Mentoring workplace place trainer assessors to meet the training management system standards
Ensure training roster and resourcing is adequate and supports the training needs of the department.
Ensure all assessments are verified and entered against employee records.
Provide training reports to customers including training history and gap analysis.
Complete audits as required - Training files, training system, WPTA
Complete Safe Work Observations/Inspections and maintain regular housekeeping.
Ensure training documentation/content is current and up-to-date and entered in the Document Training System.
Review GI encore policies and procedures to ensure training is reflective of any changes.
Be a visible leader by actively participating in department meetings wherever possible.
Mentor WPTAs
Identify and contribute to continuous improvement opportunities
Upskill operational competencies
Be consultative and collaborative with team members from the training department, in addition to providing excellent customer service to operational areas.
The successful applicant will have:
Qualification in Training and Assessment and demonstrated experience in a similar role
Australian Manual Drivers Licence
Proven Industry experience in mining across a range of surface or underground operational competencies
Committed to safety and a strong communicator to build robust partnerships in the operations
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Word and Excel
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing strong customer service
The ability to liaise / communicate with stakeholders internally and externally.
Good time organisational & management skills with ability to recognise and allocate priorities.
High attention to detail and ability to work well in a team and independently.
Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles
Knowledge of Mining Legislation
