The opportunity:
Are you passionate about making a tangible impact in your community? We are seeking a dynamic Capital Works Project Officer to lead the charge in shaping our infrastructure projects in Mt Buller & Mt Stirling.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering and managing a diverse range of projects from roads, trails and car parks to buildings and essential water and sewage treatment facilities.
As the Capital Works Project Officer, you will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Your expertise in procurement and contract management will be essential in navigating the complexities of public infrastructure and in collaboration with a talented team and stakeholders, bring innovative solutions to life.
Accountabilities:
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of capital work projects across the resort, including planning, design development, procurement, construction and close out.
* Prepare and manage comprehensive project documentation such as project briefs, programs, risk registers, cost estimates, specifications, tender documents, and evaluation reports.
* Monitor and report on project progress, timelines, and milestones, ensuring delivery within approved scope, budget, and timeframes.
* Manage contracts and relationships with contractors and suppliers, including overseeing quality assurance, processing payment claims, resolving issues, and managing variations.
* Undertake financial management of projects, including forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting against budget, and contribute to broader financial planning within the Assets & Operations team.
Qualifications, experience & skills:
* Degree qualification in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or relevant qualifications and/or experience with Capital works project management.
* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, including end to end project financial management
* Effective communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
* Solution focused and high-level attention to detail
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills
