GTES (Group Training & Employment Services) is a community-owned not-for-profit that supports local businesses and job seekers through apprenticeships, traineeships, and labour hire across the Riverina.
We’re seeking a hands‑on HR & Payroll Officer to join our small, dedicated office team.
This role has become available due to an internal promotion and is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, varied environment.
About the role
You’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day HR, payroll, and office operations, including:
- Processing payroll for over 100 external employees
- Supporting invoicing, accounts, and general finance duties
- Managing compliance, WHS, and injury claims
- Preparing quotes for labour hire and group training placements
- Providing general administrative and executive support to the team
- Assisting with process improvement and system efficiency
You’ll work closely with our General Manager and office team, with the support of a trainee who assists with recruitment and enquiries.
What we’re looking for
- HR, payroll, or finance experience (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence learning new systems and interpreting awards
- A team‑first attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
- Adaptability & problem‑solving skills
