We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Officer in Canberra to work on COSPO projects; shortlisting now for a January start

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Officer in Canberra to work on COSPO projects.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

* ICT & Warehouse Management: Maintain ICT hardware stores, consumables, and warehouse facilities at designated Defence sites.

* Logistics & Operations Support: Conduct warehouse operations including shipping, issuing material systems, handling repairs, and providing logistical support during exercises or operations.

* Asset & Inventory Control: Ensure all items are uploaded/updated in TAMIT, manage consumables, conduct audits/stocktakes, and perform disposals in line with Defence policy.

* Procurement & Administration: Assist with hardware procurement, purchasing, invoicing, budget management, and maintain supply databases/statutory accounts.

* Stakeholder & Defence Systems Engagement: Operate forklifts, manage inventory movement, use Defence logistics systems, and provide support to international partners, Maintenance, and HQ teams.

What You'll Bring

* Mandatory Licences & Training: Forklift Licence, Drivers Licence, and Test & Tag training.

* Defence Logistics Experience: Minimum 5 years in Defence or Government integrated logistics and warehouse operations.

* Asset & Documentation Management: Proven ability to maintain accurate warehouse documentation and manage asset systems.

* Stakeholder Communication: Strong ability to communicate effectively with Defence stakeholders.

* Desirable Certifications & Tools: Experience with JIRA/Insight Asset Management, TAMIT, First Aid, Certificate III in Warehousing, and Dangerous Goods certification.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
