Lawson Flats is seeking a skilled and thoughtful Finance & Operations Lead to help guide the inner workings of one of Australia’s most distinctive cultural enterprises.
This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting to the General Manager and responsible for ensuring the smooth, compliant, and forward-looking operation of our finance, HR, and administrative systems. It’s a role suited to someone with strong technical capability, excellent judgement, and a genuine interest in contributing to a values-led organisation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
* Financial Management: Oversee payroll, payables, reconciliations and monthly reporting. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and investor reports. Maintain clean, accurate financial records
* Operational Leadership: Streamline systems across finance, HR, booking platforms, POS, and inventory. Drive tech adoption and improvements across departments.
* Compliance & Risk: Liaise with our accountants and advisors to manage tax, insurance, audit, and legal obligations.
* People & Culture: Maintain HR records, support onboarding, and contribute to a workplace culture that is inclusive, clear, and high-performing.
* Strategic Input: Provide financial insight to support planning, identify efficiencies, and enable the business to grow sustainably.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* You’re highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple disciplines.
* You’ve got 3+ years’ experience in a finance or operations role - ideally in a high-growth, creative, or hospitality-adjacent environment.
* You are confident setting up systems and procedures, where few have previously existed.
* You might be CA or CPA qualified, or have equivalent experience and smarts.
* You know your way around Xero and Excel, and can quickly get across new systems.
* You’re proactive, discreet, and reliable. A team player who takes ownership and follows through.
