Health and Safety Specialist
RACV is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to lead and coordinate health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across its diverse Corporate, Insurance, and Roadside business portfolio.
The successful candidate will be an experienced health, safety, and wellbeing professional ready to make a meaningful impact. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support on health, safety, and wellbeing programs and initiatives.
You will perform day-to-day health, safety, and wellbeing activities, reporting, and systems support. This includes conducting site visits, participating in health, safety, and wellbeing meetings, facilitating risk assessments, learning, and coaching sessions. You will also lead and inspire continuous improvement in safe work practices and support the delivery of divisional health, safety, and wellbeing improvement plans.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing expert advice and support on health, safety, and wellbeing programs and initiatives
* Performing day-to-day health, safety, and wellbeing activities, reporting, and systems support
* Conducting site visits, participating in health, safety, and wellbeing meetings, and facilitating risk assessments
* Leading and inspiring continuous improvement in safe work practices
* SUPPORTING THE DELIVERY OF DIVISIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELLBEING IMPROVEMENT PLANS
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* 5+ years' experience in a health and safety related role
* Expertise and/or experience in psychosocial safety, highly desirable
* Knowledge of best practice, legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and Australian standards
* Proficient in MS Office applications
* Developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
* Effective collaboration with senior leaders and managing key stakeholder relationships
* Confident facilitator and role model for safety behaviours
* Analytical, highly organised, and time management abilities
* Proactive, responsive, and committed to continuous improvement and change management
* Ability to manage priorities, with a practical and pragmatic approach to decision making and problem solving
