Job Title: Director of Educational Leadership
Somerset College seeks an accomplished academic leader to drive impactful science education and inspire the next generation of scientific competence.
This full-time position oversees curriculum development, elevates learning outcomes, and fosters a culture of inquiry, curiosity, and scientific intellect. You will lead a dynamic team of physics, chemistry, and biology teachers.
* Lead curriculum development and science teaching across Year 7 to Year 12.
* Inspire collaboration and outstanding achievement in academics and learning outcomes.
* Provide disciplinary leadership in Physics (ideally; Chemistry and Biology considered) and drive innovative, evidence-based science education.
* Support and manage a team of science teachers, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, you must possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in a science discipline.
* Strong disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge across sciences.
* International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme experience is highly regarded.
* The ability to build meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
* Teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and current First Aid certification.
* Physical fitness to work across a vibrant campus and perform manual handling tasks.
