Maltby Certification Group Pty Ltd is a growing private certification practice based in Tamworth, servicing the New England and North West NSW regions. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Building Certifier / Building Inspector (previously known as A3 / A4) to join our team.
The Role
You will work across a diverse range of residential, commercial and industrial projects, providing building certification and compliance services from approval through to the issue of the Occupation Certificate. This is a hands-on role involving site inspections, documentation review and client advisory, ensuring every project meets legislative and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and determine Construction Certificates, Complying Develoment Certificates and Occupation Certificates
* Undertake critical stage and final inspections (Note: Travel will be required for inspections within and around the Tamworth Region).
* Provide compliance advice under NSW planning legislation and the NCC/BCA
* Review construction documentation for compliance with Building Code and Australian Standards
* Liaise with councils, builders, designers and other consultants
* Manage project timeframes and client relationships
About You
Essential
* Eligibility to apply for Registration / or currently Registered as a NSW Building Certifier / Building Inspector.
* Experience in Private Certification or Local Government within NSW.
* Strong knowledge of NSW planning and building legislation.
* Experience in assessment of Class 1 and 10 Buildings / Volume 2 of the NCC/BCA.
* Excellent communication and writing skills.
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
* Current NSW Driver's Licence.
Desirable
* Current Registration as Registered Certifier / Building Inspector in NSW.
* Experience in assessment of Class 2-9 Buildings / Volume 1 of the NCC/BCA.
* Building Surveying / Construction Management Qualifications (Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Degree) Note: Applicants who are enrolled and currently studying may be also considered).
* Previous experience using Building Certification Systems (BCS)
