Ready For Life Disability is looking to onboard a peer or mental health worker for a disability support worker position.
We have capacity to bring on a worker who has experience in mental health or peer work who can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support, only where necessary.
* Support clients to develop daily living skills and independence.
* Assist with meal preparation, medication reminders, and household tasks.
* Facilitate community participation and engagement in social, recreational, and employment activities.
* Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
* Work in accordance with individual support plans and NDIS guidelines.
* Promote dignity, respect, and choice for each person supported.
Essential Requirements
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
* Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
* Current National Police Check.
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.
* Full COVID-19 vaccination (as per government requirements).
* Right to work in Australia.

* Understanding of the NDIS and person-centred care principles.
Desirable
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent - but not necessary.
* Previous experience in clients with mental health issues, suicidal ideation or complex behaviours.
