About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing small to medium appointments, preparing briefs, and conducting solvency analyses. You will also stay current with industry practices and contribute to our firm's continuous improvement and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Report directly to directors and managers on day-to-day operations of appointments
* Lead diverse investigations
* Liaise with creditors, banks, and statutory authorities
* Investigate distressed companies' financial affairs
* Collaborate on complex technical issues with directors, managers, and business leaders
* Prioritise and manage workloads to meet deadlines
* Analyse financial statements and related data
* Conduct high-level solvency analyses
* Prepare detailed reports and client communications
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce with an Accounting major
* CA and IPA qualified or in progress
* Proven Australian experience in a similar role within an insolvency environment across personal and corporate insolvency
* Comprehensive knowledge of technical accounting concepts and including Corporations Act, Bankruptcy Act and relevant insolvency law
* Previous experience with computerised accounting systems e.g. INSOL, MYOB, APS
* A high level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
* Proven time management skills and high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
* Excellent interpersonal, communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork and the ability to build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders
