Position: Senior Software Engineer

About the role
We are Loanoptions.ai, an AI-driven lending platform. We are a startup, we move fast, and we are looking for someone to take full ownership of designing, building, and maintaining core components of our application platform.
We are looking for someone hungry, smart, curious and technical who wants their big break. Someone who wants to be a key contributor from day one rather than just a number in a big corporate team. This is an in-person role.
Position Overview
The company requires a senior technical contributor to manage, maintain, and advance its core software platforms, specifically the AILO and HAILO systems. This role assumes technical ownership of codebases and cloud infrastructure following the transition of the founding technical leadership. The primary focus of this position is technical execution, architectural planning, and ensuring the strict security and stability of the infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
* Assume technical ownership of existing platforms, guiding their scalability, performance, and long-term architectural alignment.
* Develop, refactor, and maintain application codebases utilising TypeScript and Python, including extensive use of the FastAPI framework and auxiliary scripting.
* Manage complex cloud environments within Amazon Web Services (AWS) with a strict emphasis on security protocols.
* Design and maintain secure network architectures, specifically configuring and managing Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) and AWS Secrets Manager.
* Provision and manage all cloud infrastructure utilising Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tooling.
* Administer and optimise database operations across both NoSQL and relational database systems, serving as the primary technical authority for MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
* Ensure all software and infrastructure adhere to the company continuous compliance frameworks, working within Vanta to uphold required security standards.
* Serve as the senior technical authority for the engineering team, providing code reviews, architectural guidance, and technical documentation.
Technical Requirements
* Demonstrated proficiency in Python, including the FastAPI framework and general system scripting.
* Advanced operational knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The candidate must possess proven experience managing secure, high-availability cloud infrastructure.
* Demonstrated experience implementing and managing cloud security measures, including VPC isolation, IAM policies, and AWS Secrets Manager.
* Practical experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Deep functional knowledge of database design, querying, and performance tuning for MongoDB.
* Strong competency in relational database architecture and management using PostgreSQL.
* Experience operating within strict security and compliance environments, such as SOC2.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience in the asset finance technology sector or experience integrating with third-party Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
* Experience migrating enterprise systems and developing connectors.
