You will work with the world's largest computing infrastructure, learning the daily operations of a large data centre, and troubleshooting servers and network equipment.
You will interact with logistics, networking, security, and other teams to get the job done.
There is never a dull moment as each day presents new challenges.
You will help maintain the world's largest computing infrastructure, handling repairs, parts tracking, and maintenance.
We are looking for candidates to commit to a 6-month contract and we are committed to providing coaching and periodic assessments to help develop your skills.
If successful after 6 months, you might be interviewed to join the Amazon family full-time.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot all hardware and related problems
Perform basic level OS and configuration troubleshooting
Replace parts and devices
Sanitise and destroy storage media (HDD, SSD, etc.)
Maintain a high level of system reliability by prioritising resolution of trouble tickets efficiently
Follow DC operations, logistics, security and safety processes and guidelines
Practice and enforce Amazon's security and safety best practices
This position requires working in a 24/7 operational environment with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work any assigned shift pattern, which typically follows a 12-hour rotation (day/night).
Shift schedules may be subject to change based on operational needs, and employees must be able to maintain alertness and effectiveness throughout their designated shifts.
On-call responsibilities may be required, and the ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular shift hours is essential.
Shift differential pay will be provided for non-standard hours in accordance with company policy.
Basic Qualifications
Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and their configurations
Basic IT troubleshooting experience and/or knowledge
Physical ability to lift & rack equipment using lifting equipment
Valid driver's licence and own vehicle to travel between sites
Preferred Qualifications
A degree or diploma at university or TAFE
Linux knowledge
Networking knowledge
Passion about IT infrastructure and hardware
