Our client is a growing, generalist law firm with a national footprint and head offices here in Brisbane. As a result of an internal promotion, a new opportunity has been created for an experienced Financial Controller to join the team and lead the company's finance function.
About the role
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the planning, managing and controlling all finance related activities for the firm. This includes but is not limited to:
* Preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts
* Involvement in strategic planning, the annual budgeting process and ad-hoc reporting
* Regular cashflow forecasting
* Oversight of the firm's payroll function and ensuring compliance with taxation and superannuation requirements.
* Ensuring compliance with trust regulations and overseeing the annual trust audit compliance process.
* Risk management
* Ensuring systems and processes are optimised for efficiency
Skills & Experience
* CA or CPA preferred
* Experience in a leadership role with the ability to think strategically as well as roll up your sleeves
* Exposure to the professional services sector, ideally the legal industry
* Varied skillset and comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across the SLT and Partnership group
* Strong people management skills and experience
* Around 10+ years of total experience
