Therapy Assistant Job Description
About the Position:
We are seeking a Therapy Assistant to deliver Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Physiotherapy programs to our clients under the instruction and guidance of a qualified Allied Health Professional.
This is a casual position, with the opportunity to grow based on your capacity. You will receive regular support from our therapists in person and remotely.
* Support clients and their families to achieve therapy goals through delivery of therapy programs.
* Further your experience in the disability sector while receiving ongoing support from our Allied Health Professionals.
* Be a champion for our customers, supporting them to achieve their goals and independence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivery of individual and group therapy programs for clients in an individual and family-centred model of practice.
2. Supporting clients to achieve their therapy goals under the instruction and guidance of a qualified Allied Health Professional.
3. Providing ongoing support to clients and their families to ensure successful outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
We require an Allied Health student currently studying an allied health degree (e.g., SP, OT, DT, PT), or a Certificate IV in Allied Health, or a fully qualified and/or experienced Allied Health Assistant (min Cert III).
A valid WWCC (NSW & VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening clearance are also required. Additionally, completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module training, current First Aid and CPR certification, and a current drivers license with access to a reliable vehicle are necessary.
The ideal candidate will have well-developed interpersonal skills and an understanding of professional boundaries and scope of practice.
