About The Role
Ipswich City Council is on an exciting journey to uplift information management maturity across the organisation.
The role supports compliance and best‐practice information management, supervises a team of five, and provides training and advice to build capability and awareness.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Coordinate Council's records management function, ensuring timely and accurate execution of processes, and cross‐skilling activities to maintain data quality and compliance
* Manage the records functional responsibilities including the implementation, testing and quality control and audits to ensure integrity, verify security and confidentiality of system records
* Collaborate on developing, implementing and reviewing information management and data governance policies and strategies that strengthen the Record Keeping and Information Management practices, culture, and capabilities of the Council
* Undertake archival and preservation activities, including auditing, long‐term retention and compliant disposal of records
* Provide training and raising awareness on information management and data governance requirements to build employee capability and embed accountable information‐handling practices
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the information and data management program
* Establish and maintain effective working partnerships with stakeholders with key roles in the delivery of Information and Records Management services
* Provide clear leadership, direction and coaching to team members to build capability, drive continuous improvement and deliver high‐quality information and records management services

About You
* Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. information/records management, data governance, archiving)
* Strong leadership skills and a talent for building collaborative relationships
* A strategic mindset with the ability to drive cultural and system change
* Commitment to delivering high‐quality, compliant, and user‐centric information service
* A focus on setting high standards for quality and quantity while achieving project goals
* Excellent communication skills to liaise and communicate with a broad range of people
* A high level of organisational skills to prioritise multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and within a team
* Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant records legislation, standards and retention/disposal schedules to ensure compliance and best practice
* Advanced expertise in system administration of an Electronic Document Records Management Systems (EDRMS) including front‐end configuration, maintenance and optimisation of Objective ECM or similar EDMRS platforms
* Experience and demonstrated skills in designing and delivering effective training programs and resources that build capability in information management and system use

This is a permanent, full‐time position with a salary commencing at $102,718 plus 12.5% superannuation.
