At Bentleys Queensland, you're more than just an accountant—you're a trusted guide, helping businesses navigate challenges and seize opportunities. Your expertise fuels their success, and your insights make a real difference.
We believe in doing things differently. Our four core values—
Insightful, Authentic, Dynamic, and Connected
—define everything we do. You'll be empowered to make meaningful contributions, work with integrity, adapt to new challenges, and build lasting relationships.
You deserve to work in an environment that values your skills, supports your growth, and gives you the space to thrive. At Bentleys, you'll be part of a team that genuinely cares about your success.
About the Role
As an Intermediate Accountant, you'll play an important part in delivering quality work for our clients while continuing to build your technical capability. You'll prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts, and you'll get hands-on with BAS, IAS, and other compliance tasks. You'll also contribute to tax planning and advisory projects, help develop supporting documentation, and liaise with the ATO on client matters.
You'll manage your own workflow with some oversight, keeping tasks moving smoothly and communicating progress along the way. You'll connect with clients through written communication and occasional meetings to support relationship building. Collaboration is a big part of the role—you'll support junior team members, share your knowledge with peers, and contribute to a positive, connected team environment.
Professional development is a key focus at Bentleys. You'll keep your technical knowledge current through training, research, and on-the-job learning, all while expanding your understanding of tax legislation, advisory work, and accounting standards.
About You
You have a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics and at least one year of experience in public practice. You understand the fundamentals of Australian tax legislation and feel comfortable using the Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel) and common accounting platforms like Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
You're someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team and contributing to collective success. You deliver work with accuracy, take responsibility for your deadlines, and communicate when you need support or clarity. You're curious, eager to build your technical expertise, and open to learning new ways of working. Most importantly, you're client-focused, adaptable, and ready to continue growing your career in an environment that encourages learning and professional development.
