The Opportunity As a Business Development Manager - Data Centres, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing Siemens’ growth strategy across the ANZ market. Collaborating closely with sales, technical, and leadership teams, you will identify emerging market opportunities, strengthen strategic customer relationships, and drive long-term business expansion across the data centre sector. In this role, you're expected to bring deep knowledge of the data centre ecosystem, particularly around data centre design, and stakeholder engagement. Siemens is looking for an experienced business development manager who can establish strong relationships with data centre operators, contractors, consultants, and the entire data centre value chain, driving our market presence and positioning Siemens as a trusted partner. This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. What You’ll Be Doing Drive business growth across Siemens’ Data Centres Vertical throughout Australia and New Zealand. Develop and execute strategic business and market growth initiatives. Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including data centre operators, general contractors (builders), multidisciplinary consultants, quantity surveying and project management consultants, mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractors, switchboard and switch room fabricators, as well as integrated controls, fire, and safety providers. Identify emerging market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends within the ANZ data centre landscape. Review tenders, and work with internal bid teams on proposals Collaborate with customers on prefabrication designs, where large sections of the data centre are constructed offsite and delivered to site as a complete integrated system and ensure alignment with Siemens’ solutions. Partner with sales teams to align customer requirements with Siemens’ technology portfolio. Contribute to strategic planning, forecasting, and business performance activities. Support go-to-market initiatives and vertical market programs across multiple business units. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful pursuit and delivery of major opportunities. Represent Siemens at industry events, networking functions, and customer engagements. Help define long-term strategies by contributing to market research, portfolio development, and growth plans. What You’ll Bring Minimum of 7 years of experience within the data centre industry, with a proven track record of developing relationships and networks across the industry. Strong expertise in data centre design and emerging data centre trends Experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management within data centres, critical infrastructure, electrical, industrial, or technology sectors. Deep understanding of the ANZ data centre landscape, including key customers, partner ecosystem, and market drivers. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and develop strategic opportunities. Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities. The ability to work effectively across technical and commercial teams within a complex organisation. Strategic thinking capability with a proactive and growth-focused mindset.
