This role represents a real opportunity to be a change agent and, trusted advisor to the CEO and ELT, and support the organization through an exciting phase of growth and expansion. This is a business critical role that reports to the CEO, and will suit a commercially astute, finance professional who is strong technically, enjoys influencing outcomes, improving systems and processes, and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
The Opportunity
As Head of Finance, you will provide strong financial leadership while ensuring robust financial management, governance and compliance. Leading a multi-disciplinary finance team, you will drive continuous improvement, leverage technology to improve insight and efficiency, and partner closely with operational leaders to support growth, performance and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading financial strategy, governance, budgeting & forecasting, treasury and transactional (AP, AR, Payroll) requirements;
* Delivering accurate and timely reporting including data driven insights for the CEO, management and the Board;
* Overseeing all external statutory compliance requirements including reporting, audit & taxation;
* Identifying, mitigating and monitoring financial risks, including embedding suitable risk frameworks and reporting;
* Driving technology-led, continuous improvement initiatives across all finance systems, processes and controls;
* Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing finance team and building a strong business partnering approach to all activities, and
* Personally partnering with each Operational Head of Business, providing commercial value-add decision support to all BAU, projects and change initiatives.
About You
You are ideally -
* CA qualification with a tertiary background in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
* 10 years’ experience in finance leadership roles
* Proven experience in complex, multi-entity environments
* Strong compliance, risk and governance lens
* A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence and positively partner across all levels of an organisation.
Highly regarded
* Experience leading finance system upgrades or digital transformation
* Exposure to construction, contracting or industrial industries
* Project and change leadership experience
