Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is seeking an experienced EL1 Commercial Lead to drive investment analysis and commercial planning across our national housing portfolio.
As part of the Property Group - Commercial team, you'll lead the development and application of DHA's investment framework, delivering insights that shape acquisition, development, and strategic provisioning decisions. Your work will directly support performance improvement and commercial outcomes across DHA's housing portfolio

Salary Range: $122,963 to $150,065 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation
Location: Head Office - Gungahlin, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney
About us
DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence's operational needs.
DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
The Property Group is responsible for ensuring DHA has the number and type of properties required to meet the needs of Defence members. This includes all the ways we bring properties in and out of the DHA portfolio, including leasing, acquisitions, and developments.
About the role
The Commercial Lead is responsible for delivering comprehensive commercial and investment analysis and planning to support DHA's strategic provisioning and housing objectives. This role will focus on the development and application of DHA's investment framework and model and will lead all commercial analysis to support the Property Group, including acquisition, development, and scenario analysis. The position will contribute to data-driven decision-making, performance improvement, and commercial sustainability outcomes across DHA's housing portfolio.
