Financial Business Analyst (CFO-Track Role)
Job Summary :
The Financial Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in financial strategy, investment analysis, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have experience leading companies with a ₦10 billion+ total valuation and ₦1 billion+ annual revenue, particularly in industries such as manufacturing, processing, mining, or other high-value enterprises. This role offers a direct path to a CFO position, making it ideal for professionals looking to step into executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities : Financial Strategy & Leadership
* Develop and implement long-term financial strategies to enhance corporate value and profitability.
* Guide executive decision-making through financial planning, forecasting, and risk assessment.
* Oversee capital allocation, financial modeling, and investment analysis to optimize resource utilization.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring business continuity.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to provide actionable insights.
* Drive cost optimization initiatives to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Capital Structuring
* Conduct due diligence, valuation assessments, and financial feasibility studies for M&A opportunities.
* Develop funding strategies, debt / equity structuring, and capital-raising plans.
Compliance & Governance
* Ensure full compliance with local and international financial regulations, IFRS, GAAP, and tax laws.
* Maintain corporate governance standards while liaising with auditors, regulatory authorities, and investors.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with investors, board members, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to drive financial transparency.
* Represent Aventa in high-level financial discussions, negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
* Implement financial technology solutions, ERP systems, and analytics tools to enhance reporting accuracy.
* Leverage automation for real-time financial insights and predictive analytics.
Requirements Key Qualifications & Experience : Education & Certifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
* MBA, CFA, CPA, or ACCA is highly preferred.
Experience
* 6 to 10+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably as a Senior Financial Analyst, Finance Director, or CFO.
* Proven track record in manufacturing, processing, mining, or other high-value industries.
* Deep expertise in financial modeling, corporate finance, capital market operations, and investment analysis.
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills for contracts, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
* Experience in raising capital through debt, equity, or venture funding.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive financial controls at scale.
Technical & Regulatory Expertise
* Proficiency in ERP systems, financial analytics platforms, and digital transformation initiatives.
* In-depth knowledge of global financial regulations, IFRS, GAAP, and risk management frameworks.
