**About the role**
CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is seeking a Caseworker to provide effective case management/coordination services to clients of our Domestic and Family Violence teams to deliver therapeutic outcomes, build client capabilities, increase safety and promote change through an empowerment client centred model.
This is a max-term full -time position.
The role will require travel to client homes located in the Central Coast region.
**Duties**
- Provide high quality, short term, comprehensive case management to support women, children and male clients at high risk due to domestic and family violence. We support victim survivors increase their safety as they chose to stay in the family home or plan to leave.
- Provide strength-based, child-centred and DFV informed services to vulnerable client groups including:
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients
- First Nations families
- those engaging in alcohol and drug use
- those with mental health concerns
- LGBTIQ and non-gender binary folk
- those living with disability
- Provide support through advocacy, safety planning and collaboration with other services.
- Ability to contribute to informed DFV and child-safety risk assessments as part of a team.
- Provide timely intake and triage assessment
- Delivery of group facilitation on Domestic Family Violence education
- Develop and foster strong relationships with relevant external stakeholders and community groups including NSW Police, Department of Communities and Justice, Local Courts, Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services, NSW Health etc;
- Professional record keeping and information sharing consistent with legislation relating to NSW Privacy and Confidentiality, Child Protection and Safer Pathway obligations.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 2 years experience in the field of Domestic Violence or similar is essential with tertiary qualifications in a relevant area (e.g.: Social Work, Welfare, Psychology,)
- Or Minimum 5 years experiences in the field of Domestic Violence or similar is essential with Diploma qualification in a relevant area (eg. Community Services).
- Experience or extensive knowledge in areas of domestic and family violence.
- Knowledge and demonstrated practice experience regarding current Child Protection and DFV legislation
- Understanding of domestic violence, its complexities and consequences.
- Experience in group facilitation and/or similar
- Ability to demonstrate networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide strong and respectful advocacy in situations of high pressure and competing agendas
- Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of and an ability to work effectively with Police, Courts, Women's Domestic Violence Court Assistant Scheme and interpreter services.
- A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check.
- A NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle.
