We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist Registrar to join our busy Private Practice in St Leonards in a contractor capacity.
The role would be 1 to 2 days per week with flexible hours and generous renumeration.
Scope to build to more days in the future, if desired.
You would be part of a friendly supportive team and be provided with regular supervision and professional development opportunities.
Kristy Attwooll and Associates is a private practice established over 19 years ago on Sydney's North Shore.
We receive referrals for older adolescents (16 years +), adults and couples from psychiatrists and GPs in the local area and we pride ourselves on providing excellent clinical care.
Our psychologists work with a diverse range of mental health presentations (including more complex issues) and we offer CBT, ACT, DBT, schema informed therapy and psychodynamic informed approaches.
We provide a supportive space for clients to process and heal their past and improve their relationship with themselves and others, hence we often see clients long-term.
What distinguishes our practice is the depth and duration of our experience of working with people with challenging histories, complex PTSD and attachment issues.
If you already have experience in working with such clients we would welcome what you bring to our practice and, if you are newer to working with complex presentations, you will find a team that will support you to grow into this work.
If you enjoy the challenges and immense rewards of working with clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and personality disorders, or are interested in working with such clients we would really like to hear from you.
Because the quality of the therapeutic alliance is so important with these clients, in addition to clinical competence, we are looking for a psychologist who is empathic, a great communicator and passionate about helping their clients achieve the changes they desire and live a richer life.
Ideally we are looking for someone who is warm, engaging, reliable, organized and self-motivated.

We have a strong referral base, offer generous supervision arrangements, and provide administrative support and a professional and pleasant working environment.
This role would be ideal for someone interested in working in private practice without the time, energy and cost of running one's own business.
To be considered for this role the suitable applicant would have the following:
Experience in the assessment and treatment of adults with acute and chronic psychological disorders.
Competence in the provision of treatment from the following therapeutic models: CBT, DBT, ACT, schema informed therapy and mindfulness-based strategies.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about mental health and helping people enhance their life satisfaction, wellbeing and personal effectiveness.
Able to liaise well with referrers.
Demonstrate a reliable, timely, and professional manner.
Is committed to professional development, ethical standards and self-reflective practice.
Current (or eligible to be) a Medicare provider.
Own Public Liability/ Professional indemnity insurance.
Own ABN (or be willing to apply for).
Is fully registered as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
Has a current Police Check (or be willing to obtain a police check).
Other desirable criteria is as follows:
Experience and/or an interest in working with couples.
Knowledge of, or experience with, psychodynamic therapy approaches and EMDR therapy (or open to developing skills in this modality).
Willing to offer some after work hour's appointments.
Current (or eligible to be) a SIRA work approved provider.
The position would suit a Clinical Psychologist with a few years post postgraduate experience.
However, it may be appealing to a new graduate of a Clinical Master's program or Clinical Psychology Registrar who is keen to pursue a career in private practice.
