About The Team
The Governance team within the NSSAB Secretariat drives the Board's mission to maintain high-quality regulation across non-state schools. Each year, the Governance team oversees programs such as the collection, verification, and reporting of school survey data, ensuring compliance with legislative and strategic requirements. Additionally, the team provides essential support across finance, communications, and administrative processes, helping NSSAB deliver consistent, reliable, and impactful regulatory outcomes.
About The Role
The Senior Business Support Officer provides senior-level executive and team support by coordinating agendas, writing minutes, papers, and other documents for NSSAB meetings, while overseeing administrative, corporate, and financial operations to ensure efficient processes and staff development.
In addition, the role also delivers high-level business, financial and corporate support, providing trusted advice to senior leaders, the Board, the Director-General and the Minister. The ideal candidate will have strong secretariat experience (including accurate and timely minute taking), will be responsive to Board needs and be positioned to provide the insight needed to strengthen Board operations.
Responsibilities Include
* Monitor, coordinate and lead the flow of agendas, minutes, papers, applications, submissions and other documents to provide an inclusive and effective executive support to the delivery of NSSAB and other meetings.
* Work effectively as a senior member in a team environment to support the development, management and application of educational, accreditation and eligibility for government funding matters.
* Coordinate, allocate and monitor resources and review the operations, policies and procedures relating to the administrative, corporate and financial activities performed by the Performance team to ensure effective and efficient processes and service provisions are in place.
* Implement training and staff development across the administrative, corporate and financial functions performed by the Performance team.
* Manage the financial bookkeeping and expenditure processes for NSSAB, including recording financial transactions, coordinating payments and maintaining complete sets of financial records.
* Manage, prepare and coordinate NSSAB's annual financial statements and audit processes.
