Why Join Us

At Manning Base Hospital, you’ll find more than just a workplace - you’ll find connection, purpose, and balance. Nestled in beautiful Taree on the Mid North Coast, our team enjoys the best of regional living: a relaxed pace, robust community spirit, and the stunning Manning River, beaches, and hinterland all within easy reach.

On Level 6, you’ll be part of a compassionate team providing care across 14 medical and 6 dedicated palliative care beds. Here, nursing is truly person-centred - we take the time to listen, to support, and to care not just for our patients, but for each other.

We understand that work‑life balance matters, which is why this role offers a 7‑day rotating roster with self‑rostering options - giving you the flexibility to plan your life around what’s most important. You’ll also have daily access to education opportunities, from in‑services and grand rounds to online learning during "Education Hour," ensuring you continue to grow professionally while working in a team that values curiosity and development.

About The Role

As an Enrolled Nurse on Level 6, you’ll provide holistic, patient‑centred care to individuals with both medical and palliative needs. Our model of care is individual patient allocation, meaning you’ll take ownership of your patients’ day‑to‑day care while collaborating closely with your colleagues to maintain the highest standards across the ward.

You’ll be supported every step of the way by the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, and your experienced team members. Together, you’ll ensure each patient - and their family or carers - receives compassionate, safe, and evidence‑based care.

What You’ll Do

- Deliver high‑quality, individualised nursing care under the guidance of Registered Nurses.
- Communicate sensitively with patients and families, supporting them to make informed care decisions.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, holistic care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional standards.
- Participate in ongoing learning and contribute to quality improvement initiatives on the ward.

About You

You’re an empathetic, motivated nurse who thrives in a team environment but can confidently manage your own patient load. You bring excellent communication skills, a calm presence, and a genuine passion for caring for others - particularly in moments that matter most.

Essential Requirements

- Current registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed where applicable).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to person‑centred care and ongoing professional development.
- Recent clinical experience relevant to medical or palliative care settings.

Benefits

- 4 weeks annual leave (pro‑rata for part time employees)
- Monthly Allocated Days Off (for full‑time employees)
- Paid parental leave (for eligible employees)
- Salary packaging options - up to $11,600 plus novated leasing

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family member
