Day Rate: $500–$800 + super (depending on experience)
About the Role:
Consultive is supporting two established civil contractors delivering key infrastructure works across Melbourne's northern growth corridor. One project involves large scale transport and road upgrades in the north-east, with a strong focus on tunnelling interfaces, freeway widening and major civil works. The second contractor is delivering a series of civil and road upgrade packages across the north and west, including intersection upgrades, safety improvements and localised road infrastructure works. Both roles offer the chance to contribute to well structured project teams and play a hands on part in supporting safety performance across high profile civil construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits and documentation
• Lead toolbox talks, prestart briefings and safety discussions
• Support high risk works including excavation, plant movement, structures, utilities and pavements
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, standards and internal processes
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions
• Maintain accurate safety reporting and contribute to ongoing improvements
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and broader site teams
• Review SWMS, JHAs, permits and risk assessments
About You:
• Experience as a Safety Advisor within civil construction (roads, bridges, utilities, tunnels or major infrastructure)
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and civil construction safety requirements
• Confident communicator able to influence behaviours and build rapport across site teams
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum requirement)
• Ability to work proactively in busy, fast moving site environments
