About the Role

Are you a motivated professional with a background in transport or logistics looking to move into a dedicated compliance role? We are seeking a reliable and organized
Compliance Officer
to join our team.

Reporting directly to the
Compliance Manager
, you will play a key role in the daily oversight of our safety standards, operational records, and site requirements. This is a "hands-on" position that offers a great balance between administrative auditing and active site inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Working closely with the Compliance Manager, your duties will include:

* Daily Safety & Operations:
Conduct regular temperature monitoring for reefer units, carry out CCTV checks, and perform Biosecurity area inspections.
* DG Coordination:
Classify Dangerous Goods (DG) jobs within our Transport Management System and ensure all required manifests are generated and distributed accurately.
* Systems & Data Integrity:
Maintain the accuracy of our databases by actioning reminders in the Equipment Management System, validating relevant documents, and ensuring all operational data is current.
* NHVAS & Fleet Support:
Assist with NHVAS Maintenance Accreditation by auditing service schedules, investigating avoidable maintenance repairs, and ensuring weight gauge calibrations are completed on schedule.
* Contractor Compliance:
Validate contractor insurances, prequalifications, and mass verifications to ensure all third parties meet our safety and regulatory standards.
* Training & Testing:
Carry out SOP training, sideloader assessments, and drug and alcohol testing as required.
* Reporting:
Compile monthly parking reports for Finance and assist the Compliance Manager in preparing analytic reports and compliance statements.

What We're Looking For

* Organization:
You are a "process person" who enjoys following checklists and ensuring paperwork is 100% correct.
* Reliability:
You are comfortable working in a yard environment and can be counted on to perform daily inspections consistently.
* Communication:
You can communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, contractors, and the management team.
* Tech Skills:
You are comfortable using software (Transport and Equipment Management Systems) and are proficient in spreadsheets for basic reporting.

Requirements

* Previous experience in the Transport or Logistics industry (Operations or Admin).
* A basic understanding of NHVAS or Heavy Vehicle regulations is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is essential.
* Current Driver's License.
* A proactive "can-do" attitude and a high level of attention to detail.
