This opportunity is for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead our transport operations based out of our facility in Forrestfield, Perth.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead a small team to deliver the safe, smooth and efficient day-to-day activities of the transport division, ensuring service optimisation and legislative compliance. Building our internal abilities to meet today's challenges and allow Sands to take advantage of future growth opportunities.
The role requires an experienced energetic transport manager who leads from the front, is " hands on" with strong people management, and a safety-first attitude.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Lead, manage, and optimise the performance of the Transport and Distribution operations.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations, enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the transport fleet, including asset utilisation, asset standards and presentation and operational capability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, particularly CoR and WAHVA regulations.
- Ensuring delivery on our service promise by ensuring delivery and pickups windows targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety standards, company policies, legislation, and the chain of responsibility within the team.
- Drive a safety-first culture throughout the transport and distribution operations team
- Oversee the management of rosters and schedules ensuring adequate resources are planned to maximise efficiency and service requirements.
- Maintain effective stakeholder communication to meet agreed service standards.
- Provide leadership guidance, training, and support to the team to enhance performance.
- Prepare and manage transport budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Work closely with the MD and senior management team to align transport operations with the business's strategy and objectives.
- Drive financial performance, resource optimisation, and productivity across multiple depots across the state.
**Key Requirements**:
- **Minimum 5+ years proven senior transport management experience**:
- Managed fleets in excess of 40 + vehicles
- Be able to demonstrate a strong safety behaviour and culture
- Strong knowledge of fleet management and vehicle maintenance.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels.
- A track record of delivering operational and financial outcomes in complex environments.
- Sound knowledge of compliance requirements for WAHVA.
- Ability to foster strong relationships lift organisational capability.
