The role of Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is a critical component in the protection and management of operational information systems security. This position reports directly to the Information Systems Security Manager and provides support in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines for information systems security.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with authorization packages and notify the ISSM of any changes that may affect the authorization determination.
* Coordinate modifications to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change.
* Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.
* Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to authorized personnel and review audit records for anomalies.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, cybersecurity, or information assurance.
* CISSP, Security+, or equivalent certification.
* MCSA or equivalent experience.
Experience and Skills
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an ISSO role with IA certifications considered sufficient for degree requirement.
* Experience in Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
* Meet DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as an Information Assurance Technical Category II (IAT II) minimum.
* Linux experience preferred.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to brief at all levels.

* The employee must be able to lift items up to 10kgs independently.
* Must be able to walk, sit, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and occasionally stand.

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.
