About the Role
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Youth Workers to join our team on a casual basis. In this fulfilling role, you will assist young clients in maintaining their independence, living safely in their homes, and actively participating in their communities. You will provide personalised support to help them navigate social, emotional, and financial challenges while fostering their growth and engagement in meaningful opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews and assessments to identify individual needs and provide advice on rights, entitlements, and referrals to appropriate programs or agencies.
- Provide immediate support for young people in crisis, including housing, mental health, and health emergencies.
- Empower clients to achieve goals, develop life skills, and work towards independent living.
- Support youth in accessing education programs and training to enhance employability.
- Organise and supervise social, recreational, and educational activities to help young people fulfil their potential and actively engage in their communities.
- Monitor and report on clients' progress, ensuring their goals and needs are met.
Minimum Requirements
- Fluent in English (knowledge of a second language is preferred, as many clients come from CALD backgrounds).
- First Aid Certificate.
- Diploma in Community Work or a higher qualification.
- Certificate III in Individual Support or a higher qualification.
- Experience working with young clients, particularly those with FASD and disabilities.
