Position Title: Advisory Officer
Level and Salary: Level 7 ($128,077 - $136,891 per annum) + 11.5% superannuation (Anticipated increase to $134,481 - $143,736 following General Agreement registration)

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information

Do you have experience in analysing complex issues and report writing?
If so, you are invited to apply to the Legislative Council of Western Australia as an Advisory Officer.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill this unique and interesting role on a full-time permanent basis.
Background
The Department of the Legislative Council supports five standing committees and two joint standing committees.
These committees are made up of Members of Parliament and conduct inquiries in relation to current issues and important matters affecting our State.
The Advisory Officer provides advice to one or more committees and is able to immerse themselves in these exciting inquiries.
What you'll do as an Advisory Officer
provide advisory support to committees engaged in inquiries on a diverse range of matters affecting Western Australia
conduct research and prepare well-written reports on the topics under investigation
analyse complex and competing arguments related to the inquiries
demonstrate resilience and the ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously
mentor other team members
be self-motivated
Reporting and Location
The position is based in the Legislative Council Committee Office, located in a new office building opposite Parliament House in West Perth.
You will report to the Clerk Assistant (Committees) and assist at least one parliamentary committee.
